Sweet Shorts is designed to showcase both new and established writing talent by providing an opportunity for the work to be performed on stage with experienced actors.

Submissions from writers need to meet the following criteria

1. PLAYING time to be between 25 and 35 minutes. Note this is not dry read time but overall time including approximate blocking and scene changes

2. The work must be original i.e not having been performed anywhere else

3. The work stays as the owner of the writer. VOX Productions does not own nor will it ever attempt to own the writing

4. Cast must be no more than 6 and no less than 2.

5. Cast must be a mix of both male and female

6. All genres accepted except musical / cabaret styles and mono or duologues

7. Preference will be given to drama and comedies plays

8. Each play must not need excessive technical requirements to be performed

9. VOX Productions is a profit share company. Each playwright will agree to take part in the profit-share arrangement which involves the allocation of a range of payment options depending on the number of participants.

10. Deadline for submissions - 31st August

11. Submissions need to be the play synopsis, character list and description, at least one scene and stage and technical ideas as a minimum

12. Shortlisted plays will be asked to submit full and final plays for selection by 23rd September

13. Selected plays will be notified by 30th September

14. Writers are to be involved in the audition and actor selection process alongside the Director
